Exhibition “Demoscene – Arte Algorítmica” opened in Almada/ Lisboa
From October 3 to 24, Almada will host the exhibition “Demoscene – Algorithmic Art” at the Oficina de Cultura, located on Av. Dom Nuno Álvares Pereira. Among the works on display are creations of current relevance and others of historical value, including Portuguese works.
Organized by the Inércia Association, the exhibition showcases various computing platforms used as media for digital artworks, including systems such as the Commodore Amiga, ZX Spectrum, SEGA Mega Drive, and Nintendo Wii, among others.
The exhibition also includes explanatory videos about the Demoscene and the work carried out by the Inércia Association over the years to raise awareness and promote this culture in Portugal. The program complements the exhibition with various activities aimed at different audiences.
Thus, throughout the month of October, guided tours will be held on the 6th, 14th, 16th, and 22nd, always at 2:00 p.m., and schools are welcome to participate. The initiative aims to introduce children and adults to the world of digital art and the Demoscene.
