What is the demoscene?

The demoscene is a worldwide non-commercial network of creative minds involved in the making of so called ‘demos’. Demos are computer generated music clips that show what kind of graphic and sound effects can really be done by using high-end computer hardware to its full potential.

About the campaign „Art of Coding“
Art of Coding was initiated by Tobias Kopka (Conference Director Ludicious and founding member of Digitale Kultur e.V.) and Andreas Lange (Secretary of EFGAMP e.V.). The campaign is internationally coordinated regarding institutions by EFGAMP e.V., regarding the national application in Germany and the demoscene by Digitale Kultur e.V. First partners included Neogames Finland, the Hub of the Finnish Game industry and the Finnish Museum of Games in Tampere.

About EFGAMP e.V.
EFGAMP is the European Federation of Game Archives, Museums and Preservation Projects. It represents the interests of memory institutions and partners, which are concerned with the collection, preservation and making accessible of the digital game heritage on European and international level. The Federation sets out to find new opportunities linked to digital preservation, particularly regarding video games. Through an international network of partners, EFGAMP’s mission is to encourage the creation of archives and to increase accessibility to our digital heritage.
